Risk Disclosure
Last updated 5 October 2026
Trading options and futures carries a high level of risk and is not suitable for everyone. You can lose all of the money you put in and, with futures, short options and margin, more than that. Zanshin Flow is an analytics tool. It does not tell you what to trade, and nothing on it is a recommendation.
1. Trading risk
- Options can expire worthless, and option prices can move much faster than the underlying.
- Same-day (0DTE) options are especially risky: their value can go to zero within minutes, and gamma near expiry makes positions swing violently.
- Futures and selling options use leverage. Losses can exceed your initial margin, and positions can be liquidated at bad prices.
- Slippage, fees, gaps and fast markets can make real results much worse than charts suggest.
- Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
2. Our numbers are estimates
- Dealer positioning is inferred, not observed. Gamma, charm, vanna, walls, the gamma flip and hedging flow are calculated from public options data using assumptions about who holds each contract and which side initiated each trade. Market makers' real books can be very different.
- Same-day expiries are the default view, so open interest in other expiries is not always reflected.
- Data can be delayed, incomplete, interrupted or wrong, and our calculations can contain errors.
3. Research and past results
Our own testing has been run on a small archive of recorded sessions. Most ideas tested showed no reliable edge, and those that held were small and rest on few independent observations. Results from historical or hypothetical testing have important limits:
- They are not real trading. They ignore or estimate execution, fees, slippage and liquidity.
- They are designed with hindsight, and small samples can show effects that don't persist.
- Past performance, real or simulated, is not a reliable indicator of future results.
4. Not advice
Zanshin Flow is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other financial regulator, and gives no personal recommendations. The Service, the Learn guides and anything we publish are general information and education. Before trading, make sure you understand the products and risks involved, and consider getting advice from an independent, appropriately authorised financial adviser.
